Digital innovation is rapidly reshaping various organizations, industries, and countries while impacting people and society in novel ways. From hospitality to transportation to financial institutions, many industries are undergoing widespread disruption by innovative digital unicorns such as Airbnb, Uber, and Coinbase. These startups innovate and scale by leveraging the rapid evolution of digital technologies such as social media, mobile applications, analytics, cloud computing, and the internet of things (SMACIT). Thus, it is critical to take a closer look at the transformative role of digital technologies in the creation and disruption of innovation ecosystems.

At Digital Innovation Research Hub (DIRHub), we highlight the role of digital technologies in innovation ecosystems. We look at the enabling role of digital technologies for innovation and strive to understand and explain factors that fuel digital entrepreneurial success. Our theory-driven research approach is informed by our partnerships with practitioners and creates valuable academic and practical insights. With our unique approach to research in digital technology entrepreneurship and our network of academic and practitioner sites, we strive to share our insights with entrepreneurs, and policymakers in global knowledge economies.
